Grayson Lauterbach, age 10, will perform with Men in Motion on March 9 & 10 in ‘Beyond Belief: Youth Voices Through Dance.’
This is your first year at Moving in the Spirit. What do you think about it so far?
I like the all the new dance moves I’m learning. I took jazz, ballet and tap before, but not as much hip hop and modern.
What does it mean to you to speak out and share your voice?
I think if there’s something you don’t agree with, then you should speak out and try to change it.
Is there something that you believe in really strongly that you would speak up about no matter what?
The rights of each and every person.
How do you help or encourage others to share their voices?
I say ‘do what you think is best.’ When you speak out, it’s not as bad as keeping it to yourself.
What has been your biggest challenge in preparing for your upcoming performance, and how have you overcome it?
Stage fright, but I’m working on power poses.
Why should people come see this show?
Because we have worked really hard and we’ve tried our best.
