KaRon Gray, age 12, will perform with Men in Motion on March 9 & 10 in ‘Beyond Belief: Youth Voices Through Dance.’
So this is your first year dancing. What do you like most about Men in Motion?
Dancing and the people! And there’s a lot of boys here. They say we are a family here and it definitely makes you feel welcome.
What are the dances in your upcoming show about?
Boys dancing and trying to achieve and accomplish something.
What does it mean to you to speak out with your voice?
It means to inspire others who are doubting themselves.
What advice would you give to somebody else who doesn’t feel confident about speaking out?
Always believe in yourself and never give up.
What is your favorite thing about performing?
Dancing makes me feel free. I get to move around and do my own thing, and it keeps me energized and healthy.
What would you say to someone to convince them to come see your upcoming show?
The dances are cool that Mr AZ and the rest of our teachers put in there. And it would be great for your kids to learn how to dance. It worked for me so I hope it works for them.
