Corrine Nielsen, age 11, will perform with GLOW in Motion and Men in Motion dancers on March 14, 2020 in ‘Unity.’
This is your first year dancing at Moving in the Spirit. What do you like about it?
I like just the studios and I love that there’s no mirrors so no one’s judging anyone on how they are performing. And I love the teachers, they’re funny, they’re really nice, and they critique you very well.
The show you are preparing for is called Unity. What does “unity” mean to you?
Unity to me means just coming together and being one or becoming one.
What do you think people can do to build unity, especially young people like you?
I think people can spread love and continue to express things in a healthy and nice way. Some people do it through dance, some people do it through singing or writing, and that’s a healthy way to get their emotions out and make sure they connect with one another.
Why do you think people should come see this performance? What are you most proud of?
I want them to see the unity within the pieces, and within the entire program and dance.
