Gabby Richards, age 12, has danced at Moving in the Spirit for four years. You can see Gabby perform with GLOW in Motion and Men in Motion dancers on March 14, 2020 in ‘Unity.’
You’ve danced here for four years. Why do you keep coming back year after year?
The community is so nice and the teachers really care about you and your classmates really care about you and everyone loves each other.
Your upcoming show is called ‘Unity.’ What does unity mean to you?
It means to me that even if you’re from different religions and backgrounds, you come together for your love of a certain thing or everything.
Why do you think it’s important to do a show about unity right now?
Because in the world today, there’s not a lot of unity. Everyone’s going at it with each other. And I think we just need more love and peace.
What is something you would do to create more unity?
Change some of the laws. And clean up the Earth.
Is there anything you’re looking forward to most about the show?
Just all of us sharing all our talent with everyone watching. Showing them who we really are and what we’ve worked on for the past few months.
What do you want the audience to experience when they’re watching the show?
All their emotions, whatever the dance makes them feel. Like, if they think of a certain person, I want them to feel that person on their shoulder, watching with them.
Why should people come see this performance?
A bunch of young people worked so hard and our talent shouldn’t be wasted!
