Zenobia Mustafa, 11, 6th grade

What does it mean to lead?

I think to be a leader means that you have to be positive, to work hard, to want to get things done the correct way. I also think being a leader is standing up to your word, to do things that other people want to do and not just doing things your way because that’s not being a real leader.

What can you do to lead our world?

I can tell people about what’s best for our world and what’s best for yourself and what’s best for the environment and community around you.

What do you think of when you hear “GLOW in Motion?”

I think it means that women can actually stand up for themselves and lead the world, not just men or boys, because females have the power and have the mind to lead whatever they want to in a positive way. I think they can do more than they do now.

What piece in the show makes you feel the most like a leader?

I think it would be A Time to Love because when I dance it, I feel like I’m giving a message to the audience, saying that no matter what you have to do that is connected with business or important things, love is important also, so you need to treat love with respect as much as you respect business and money and all that stuff.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned from being in GLOW in Motion?

The most important thing would be staying together with the group and actually feeling each other, so that if one person messes up, you could be camouflaging it so that the audience doesn’t pay attention to that, but they pay attention to how the whole group is dancing as one.
