Maxi Howel is a native Atlantan and dance/movement psychotherapist who specializes in developmental trauma. She received her Master of Arts in dance/movement psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London. Maxi has experience facilitating dance/movement psychotherapy sessions for children and adolescents with severe and complex social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health difficulties in a variety of settings including alternative schools and residential psychiatric treatment facilities. She has also worked with adults struggling with psychosis and substance misuse. Before training as a dance/movement psychotherapist, Maxi was a dance teacher and choreographer in the Atlanta area for over a decade.
